2.) Best Roller Case ! Period!

Until I found this case I thought I would have to buy a new computer roller case every 6 to 10 months. Every case I purchased before this one has had quality issues that ranged from flimsy telescoping handles to split zippers and ripped seams. This case has lasted over 2 years of local and long distance business travel and hundreds of roller miles! Banging upstairs and sliding over bumps and blacktop. The zippers are the strongest of any case I have seen. The sturdy telescoping handle is the first one I have not broken while pulling the case up over stairs and steps. I am in the process of buying a my second Wenger Case to replace the first one (The wheels are just about worn out) If I could just replace the wheels I would be good to go as the top of the case is still in very good condition. I highly recommend this case.
3.) Outstanding bag, built very well, rolls easily, lots of room

I read all the product reviews here on Amazon, and I have to admit that I was hesitant, given the complaints about the handle. But, given the Wenger reputation for quality (and personal experience with a Wenger laptop backpack - see MAXXUM from SwissGear by Wenger Computer Backpack Red), I bought one. I am very pleased with the bag and have no buyer's remorse whatsoever. The reputation for quality is well deserved.
As mentioned in other reviews, this bag has a ton of room. I am able to pack all my tech stuff in it as well as two full days worth of clothing without having to stuff it. The smaller laptop bag that fits inside the larger one is absolutely perfect for toting a 15.4" laptop with a power supply and a pad of paper. This works out great when traveling. I can leave the big stuff in the hotel and just bring the important stuff to the remote office.
The unit rolls very well. I can see what people had complained about as far as the handle is concerned, but it really isn't that bad. It may take a couple of pushes or pulls to get it to lock in place, but once it is in place, I haven't had any problems with it moving when it wasn't supposed to. It is such a minor issue that I wouldn't even begin to call it an inconvenience.
This thing is built like a tank. The zippers are very strong and all the seams are stitched very well. It's nice to take a brand new bag out of the box and not see loose strings hanging off the edges.
The one and only thing I could complain about, which isn't even the bag's fault, is that it just barely meets the size restrictions for carry-on luggage. It is pretty difficult to fit in most overhead airline storage bins. But like I said, that isn't the bag, it's the overhead airline storage bins.
I recommend this bag to any road warrior who wants an all-in-one solution for 1-3 day trips. This gets five stars and a thumb's up!

The best bag I have used so far. Holds an enormous amount of stuff--I use it for my laptop and tons of psychological tests and files I need to take around on site. Plenty of compartments. I've over-stuffed it and contrary to some other reviews, the zippers are fine and the handle does click and lock into place properly on mine. It also rolls very easily even with a ton of weight in it. Very pleased...
I have now used this bag for two years in every conceivable kind of weather, dragged it through snow in northern Vermont, dropped the handle in clumsiness as I tripped over my own feet etc. I still keep it overstuffed and throw it carelessly in the back of my car. And it is going strong! This is one terrific purchase. I've never had a bag last this long and be this trouble free.

I found everything I was looking for in this bag. I love the generous amount of space it contains yet it still fits under an airplane seat. It is great to have the smaller computer bag within the bag to take out to carry for meetings. With careful space planning, I could carry a change of clothes and this bag would suffice for an overnight trip. I some times hang my heavy jacket on the handles without problem of tip over. Pockets are well organized. I like the small zipper, towards the front of the tote that holds all of my travel documents, even the large Mexican custom forms slide nicely into this. This is the second Wenger Swiss Patriot rolling case that I have purchased from Amazon. It is truly an excellent product. After I bought the first one my wife got interested in the bag. We shopped at several stores and looked at a number of other rolling cases. I tried to point her toward several cases that I thought would be more appropriate for her use then the Wenger case since she wanted to carry mostly papers and not computer stuff. In the end she wanted the Wenger case partly because of the way it was built and the way it had held up under my one year of hard usage, meaning I traveled with it almost every week. Also, I found Wenger to be a company that really stands up to their warranty agreement by repairing or replacing cases for nothing even if the case has visibly had a lot of hard use. My wheels froze up and were basically worn out, Wenger replaced the case.

This Patriot rolling bag by Swiss Gear is great. Well made, excellent design, all kinds of room, and a great guarantee as well. I use this case to tote my MacBook Pro and my text books back and forth from work, school, and home, and it protects my MacBook great. There are all kinds of specialized storage niches in this bag, and it will hold an amazing amount of stuff.
Like everyone before me, I read the reviews about the bad handle, and decided to order it anyway. Well, one of two things. They either 1) fixed the handle from earlier versions of this bag, or 2) (The more likely of the two) It was simple user error that caused all the bad reviews for the handle. You just have to simply keep the button on the handle depressed UNTIL you have the handle completely extended to the point that you want, and then release it. Not everyone needs the handle fully extended, and there are different height stops built into the handle for that very reason.
Buy this bag! You will not regret it.

I use the back (overnight) part for my folders, laptop in the laptop part, textbooks in the divided section, and my odds and ends in the front, leaving my hands free to hold my coat and the handle, or just the handle and enjoy having my back free of pain from even 'light' schoolbooks. I've seen other students with other wheelie bags and have seen mine maintain it's condition throughout the semester (yes, there have been times when I haven't exactly been kind to it)while theirs have started to fall apart. I have had comments on its size (sure, compared to those other bags it is large, but I don't find it overly so), I just smiled to myself 'cause at least I don't have to try stuffing my things in, there's plenty of space. We were worried about the cost at first, but after what I've seen of the other bags, I can justify paying the extra to get this bag. I would highly recommend this to anyone!!

I've only had the bag for about 3 weeks, so far, the build quality looks as I'd expect it - heavy construction on all fronts & lots of storage etc.
Down-side of all those pockets - temptation to carry more than you need, but that adds more weight to drag around town !
My only gripe so-far is with the pull-out handles : sometimes they don't come out all the way, and you have to fiddle by collapsing the handles ALL the way down, before being able to extend fully. When you're in a hurry, this is not the kind of delay you need.
I like the internal tote-bag - used that to carry my laptop and just the tiniest essentials to/from the office.
So for my teaching assignments, (have to take all my multiple books for my classes), this has become a "Monday" & "Friday" bag. The tote being the T-Th bag !

I'm currently using a lap with a 17" monitor which makes for a very tight fit in the secondary attchet'when I'm only using the computer by itself, but fits fine in the primary computer compartment. The only thing I miss with this bag is a shoulder strap. There are still those times when one would be more convenient than rolling due to terran. As has been noted by many reviewers, this is a very large capacity 2-part system with several nice features marred by a mediocre telescoping handle. However, since there isn't an equivalent bag on the market with a great telescoping handle, what are you going to do? Like many things in life, you learn to work around it.
The two bags combined are also surprisingly light given their vast capacity. I examined several equivalent products that could not contain as much and yet weighed quite a bit more.
Overall, if you need to cart a bunch of stuff around, this is about as good as it gets.

Also, this bag is durable but HEAVY - if you are looking for something light you might consider another bag.

I waited several months to write a review about this bag. I see there are other reviews about the handle on this bag. The telescoping handle on my bag doesn't lock or unlock properly after 6 months. Other than that, I will say that the bag looks great and other than the handle is very high quality. It has not torn or worn down. The zippers get some abuse from me and they are functioning as good as new right now. The removable case is nice to have.
I don't use the bag for travel often. Since I use it mostly for the office and being on the road in the car, I often try to put my lunch or other odd-shaped items in it. My complaint stemming from this is there's no place to put a water bottle. It's not a huge deal, but is just on my 'wish list' for these types of bags.
Overall, compared to other bags on the market and even taking the broken handle into account, it's still the bag I would purchase due to quality of the case and wheels as well as looks.

CONS:
I read several reviews before buying this Bag and was aware of its inherent problem with the telescopic handle (used to wheel the bag around). Lo and behold, my bag's handle/arm has the same problem. I'm sending it back for a replacement. Its unfortunate the a company as respectable as this will not correct a known problem and continue to ship defective products. This is a great bag. It looks good, the outer material is very tough, the bottom handle makes it easy to stow in the overhead compartment, the multiple compartments make it easy to organize your "stuff," and the price is very reasonable. Only two features keep me from giving it a perfect score. First, if you actually fill all of the compartments, you really cannot fit it under the seat (at least in coach). Second, if you pack a laptop, the space for clothes is smaller than you might expect. Having said that, this is the best single piece of carry-on luggage I've every owned.

I ordered the new one because my partner & I frequently travel together. We decided to combine our tech gear into a single case with wheels seeking one less carry-on & a lot less shoulder/back stress. The bag quality is the same high-quality, but the extending handle for pulling the case on wheels is cheesy beyond belief-- feels ready to bend or collapse at any moment, & throws the balance of the bag off. The Wenger Patriot did the best job of holding all the gear, so we returned the other bags and kept the Wenger. This has been a nice bag for quite a few travel miles in 2006. However, I have concluded that the Patriot is actually too big for an overnight or an everyday bag, and if I had to do this again I would get the smaller Metro or Potomac. Also, in December the handle broke (7 months old). I contacted the Wenger customer service number and had to leave a message.... lesson learned, they do not promptly return phone calls. Now i've gone through three of these in just over a year(purchased and returned at an office supply store). The weakest part is the extendable handle, which i haven't had too much trouble with on this slightly newer model but quickly fell apart on my previous two. On my latest version the handle is still tough to extend but the seams are coming apart and the faux leather is ripping on the front. A good idea but poor materials and workmanship.
